Amazing Flowers

The 20 x 20 best Amazing Flowers photographs.

We currently publish a photo book as a collective work, an App for iTunes, Apple Store with the best Amazing Flowers photographs, by 20 talented photographers, to be seen on iPads, iPhones and iPodsTouch.
This Edition is limited to 20 professional and amateur photographers, with a maximum of 20 photographs per photographer.
The target is a market of 500 million Internet users, worldwide. The sale is made by Apple on iTunes.

Terms

  • 20 Photographers maximum per book
  • A page for each photographer (name, address, website, Email) + a short biography of 650 characters and spaces.
  • 10 to 20 pages of photographs per photographer + a Biography of the author: a total of 21 pages maximum
  • Format of the photos :
    *.TIF
    72 dpi
    2048 x 1496 px maximum (Landscape)
    sRGB
  • The application will be available for a free download during 2 months and / or up to 100,000 downloads. This will start a buzz which will be very effective.
  • The App will then be sold at a price of 2.99 €. It will definitely remain online.
  • The Royalties and copyright will be split : 20% for Royal and 80% for the authors in proportion to the number of pages they have published.

  • The Copyrights are paid every two months to each photographer according to his number of pages.
  • At his explicit request, the Copyrights of the photographer will be donated to an NGO chosen by the photographers, whose principal aim is the protection of nature and animal species.

    Participation

    We open to every participant, as from his registration, a DropBox account with, in this account, 8 folders, including in each a README explaining perfectly the procedure. The time of realization is 30 days maximum (allotted time to the Photographer). If this time is over, the participation of the author will be cancelled, his set-up fees will be paid to a NGO (NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION).
    The working participation of the author is very small: supply of 10 to 20 photos in the required sizes and format and a text of 650 characters and spaces (biography). The layout and the programming are realized by Royal AppBooks.

    Common account

    We open for all the participants, a collective DropBox account in which a PDF will be accessible by all, which will show the layout realized by Royal.

    Temporary IPA (preview)

    Before the on-line publishing, a temporary IPA (file iTunes) will be put at the disposal of every participant, allowing him(her) to see on iPad, iPhone and/or iPod Touch the functioning of the Application.
    This IPA will serve as “Prepress proofing” to be signed by every photographer.

    Fees

    We ask for a contribution to the costs of 10 € per published page, per author.
    Example: if an author wishes to publish 10 pages + 1 Page of biography, the set-up fees will thus be 100 € (+VAT 15 %)
    These fees are the only participation of the photographer. These fees will be paid back to the author by his first royalties.

    Promoting the App

    Worldwide dissemination, in all Apple Stores.
    Diffusion on the site of Royal and all partner sites.

    Photographer’s position in the book

    according to the order that registrations are received.

    Copyright

    The Copyright remains full ownership of the author, without any restriction.
    The biography of the photographer (Bio) includes his email and the URL of his internet site, where the endcustomer can order directly to the author.

    Contract

    Each author will receive a copyright and cooperation contract guaranteeing his rights.

    The posting will be made by Royal Books App,

  • when the maximum number of photographers will be reached

    • and / or

  • when the number of 300 photos minimum will be reached.

    • Cover Page

    Our board of editors will select the cover photo. The photographer’s name will be mentioned on the cover page.

    Each photo

  • Each photo must have a name preceded by two digits: example

    • 01-Wolves in the Alps.tif
    02-Bears in the Pyrenees.tif

    The first 2 digits are the order of publication chosen by the photographer.

  • Each photo should be preferably sized 2048 px (width) and 1496 px (height), to avoid sidebands.
  • Each photo must be geolocated (Latitude, Longitude) – If you do not know the exact location, it’s not a problem, it can be easily found out.
  • Each photo must include the following information:

    • - Precise location (Example: Camargue, France)
    - The decimal coordinates (example: Latitude: 43.52814, Longitude: 4.494781) – see above if you do not have that information.
    - Camera type (example: Ricoh GX 200)
    - Exposure time (Example: 1/100)
    - Opening (Example: f/6.5)
    - ISO (example: 80)
    - Focal length (example: 5.1 mm)

    Video

    We can implement a maximum of two videos from 1.5 to 2 minutes, provided by one or two of the authors.
